Creating bulk discount codes

Bulk discount codes can be created within CommerceTools

Previously this required a cumbersome tool that has been retired, and the process is now taken care of on the main CommerceTools dashboard under the Discounts tab on the left menu.

So there are two types of discount - product discounts, and cart discounts. 
Product discounts are created for single products
Cart discounts are the typical codes applied to an entire shopping cart.

Step 1.
Create a cart discount containing the parameters of your discount such as percentage, duration, number of uses etc

Step 2.
Navigate to Generate discount codes in the Discounts menu

This screen allows you to create the number of discount codes that you require
You can specify the number of characters and prefix for the codes to be created
A small number of characters reduces the options for creating unique codes

Apply the addition parameters such as valid from/to and number of uses

From the dropdown menu choose the cart discount that you want to create the bulk codes for. 

Choose next to see the codes that you have created

You can download the list of codes from this screen. 

Click next again and the bulk codes will be associated with the cart discount code
